If you’ve previously had an abortion and have found out you’re unexpectedly pregnant, you may know one thing: you do not want to go through another abortion.
You may be wondering what your other options are and what support and resources may be available to you. The Pregnancy Help Center is here to help you.
We provide free pregnancy testing. Following a positive result, you may qualify for a limited ultrasound to learn more about your pregnancy. We also provide information about your options in a safe, confidential setting.
Schedule your appointment at our center today and get the care you deserve, or read on to learn more about your other pregnancy options.
You Have Other Options
Parenting and adoption are options to consider if you know you do not want another abortion. You don’t have to have everything figured out right away. Getting accurate information about each option can help you decide with confidence.
Before making a pregnancy decision, it’s important to get a limited ultrasound to confirm your pregnancy. You will be able to learn details such as how far along the pregnancy is, where the pregnancy is located, and whether your pregnancy is progressing (or if you’ve miscarried).
Parenting With Support
Parenting can feel overwhelming, but support and education are available to help make this journey more manageable.
The Pregnancy Help Center offers educational classes on parenting and can connect you with community resources, including referrals for housing, baby care items, and other services. Our team can also help you learn about available financial assistance programs and support.
While there are many questions and concerns to consider, we’re here to help you work through them.
If this pregnancy is bringing up emotions related to your previous abortion, we also offer a post-abortion recovery program. Please contact Debi at (310) 320-8976 or email dbryant@phctorrance.org for more information. You are not alone.
Adoption Is an Option
If you don’t feel ready to parent, adoption is another option to consider. A licensed adoption coordinator should never charge you for their services.
There are three basic adoption plans to choose from:
- Open adoption: You and the adoptive family communicate directly. Depending on the plan you create together, contact may include letters, phone calls, video calls, or in-person visits.
- Semi-open adoption: Communication generally takes place through an adoption agency or another third party. You may exchange letters, photos, and updates without sharing identifying information.
- Closed adoption: There is no direct contact between you and the adoptive family, and identifying information is generally not exchanged.
You are involved throughout the entire adoption process and get to pick an adoptive family based on your preference. We do not facilitate adoption; however, we can refer you to organizations that we know and trust.
You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone
You deserve the opportunity to get the information you need, access free pregnancy confirmation services, and talk through your feelings without pressure or judgment.
The Pregnancy Help Center is here to offer you this confidential support, plus education and resources to help you feel more confident moving forward.
